The Canvas shows every screen of your prototype on one zoomable board, with arrows for where each button goes. It's the best way to see the whole flow at a glance, and if you can edit the prototype, it's also where you plan new screens and links with Phlow.
Open the Canvas
In the top bar, switch the view from Preview to Canvas ("Canvas: every screen on one board. Plan new screens and links with Phlow"). Switch back to Preview to click through one screen at a time.
The Canvas is turned off until the prototype has at least one screen.
Move around the board
- Pan: drag the background.
- Zoom: ⌘/Ctrl + scroll, or the − and + buttons at the bottom right.
- Fit: shows every screen at once.
- Tidy up: puts the screens back in flow order.
Read the arrows
Arrows show the links between screens: a button or link on one screen that goes to another. Shared navigation that's on every screen, like a tab bar or sidebar, isn't drawn, so the arrows show the flow rather than a tangle of lines.
Arrange and open screens
- Move a screen: drag it by its name. Positions are saved, so the board looks the same next time (editors only).
- Open a screen: double-click it to open it in Preview.
Plan with Phlow
If you can edit the prototype, the Canvas has a Phlow toolbar at the top left. Phlow lets you plan changes on the board and then build them all in one version. Your plan saves automatically as you go. People who can only view the prototype see the board but can't plan.
Add a new screen
- Click + on a screen card. Phluffle suggests where people usually go next, or you can open More screens, or choose Or link to a screen that's already here.
- Or click Add screen in the toolbar.
New screens appear as dashed cards marked Planned. Click one to open its side panel and set its Name and What's on this screen. See Start with a flow for all the starter screens.
Change an existing screen
Click a built screen and write what should change under Changes to this screen. The card then shows Changes planned. Leave the box empty to keep the screen as it is. Open in preview takes you to that screen.
Link screens
- Drag from the + on one card and drop it on another.
- In the side panel, Goes to lists each link. Type the button text (for example "Get started") or click Remove. + Add the next screen adds another.
- Comes from shows which screens link to this one.
To delete a planned screen, click Delete this screen or press Delete or Backspace. Press Esc to close the panel. Built screens can't be deleted here; ask in the chat.
Build your plan
The bar at the bottom sums up your plan, for example "2 new screens · 1 screen to change · 3 links".
- Build turns the plan into the next version. Phluffle adds the new screens so they match the existing design, makes the changes you described, and turns every link into a working button. Building uses credits like any prompt.
- Clear removes the plan. Built screens stay.
You can't build while another version is being built ("Wait for the version being built to finish.").
After it builds:
- The chat shows Built with Phlow with a summary, like "Add 2 screens: … · change 1 screen · 3 links". Open The full brief to see exactly what Phluffle was asked to do.
- New screens keep the positions you gave them on the board.
- The plan clears, ready for your next round.
