There are two ways to share a prototype in Phluffle. A public view-only link lets anyone click through it without an account. Inviting people by email gives them access inside Phluffle, so they can comment or edit. Both live under the Share button in the editor.
Create a view-only share link
- Open your prototype and click Share.
- Under Public view-only link, click Create link.
- Click Copy and send the link to anyone.
Anyone with the link can click through the prototype, without an account. They can't see your prompts or edit anything. You need at least one version before you can create a link.
Creating and sharing links uses no credits.
What people see on a share link
- The prototype's title, and tabs for each screen when there are two or more.
- A small Made with Phluffle label.
- Phone designs shown in a phone frame on wide screens.
Share links aren't indexed by search engines.
Which version the link shows
A share link always shows the current version. The Share menu tells you which one: "They'll see the current version, vN." When you make a new version or restore an older one, the link shows that version next.
Heads up If the current version hasn't finished building (or it failed), the link won't load until there's a finished current version.
Turn a link off or get a new one
Click Share, then Turn off link sharing. The old address stops working straight away.
If you turn link sharing on again later, you get a new link. The old one stays dead, so you'll need to send the new one to people.
Editors can create, copy and turn off links.
Invite people by email
The owner of a prototype (whoever created it, or the owner of its team workspace) can invite people:
- Click Share.
- Type an email address in Invite by email.
- Choose Can edit or Can view.
- Click Invite.
What happens next depends on whether they already use Phluffle:
- They have an account: they get access straight away, plus an email with an Open it button.
- They don't: they get an email invitation with an Accept invitation button. It's valid for 14 days. They sign up or log in with the invited email address to accept, and they skip any waiting list for new accounts.
Inviting the same address again replaces the old invitation link.
See and manage who has access
People with access in the Share menu lists:
- The creator, marked Owner.
- Everyone in {workspace} (By role), when the prototype is in a team workspace.
- Each person you've invited, marked Can edit or Can view. Click × to remove them.
- Pending invitations, marked Invited. Click × to cancel one.
Leave a prototype shared with you
Open the prototype, click Share, and click × next to your own name.
What each role can do
| Role | Can do |
|---|---|
| Owner | Everything an editor can, plus invite people, delete the prototype and move it between workspaces |
| Editor | Change the prototype, manage share links and use Live Deploy |
| Viewer | Open the prototype, click through it and leave comments |
Viewers see a note in the editor: "You can view this prototype. Ask … for edit access."
Move a prototype to another workspace
The owner can move a prototype between their personal space and a team. Click Share and pick from the Workspace dropdown. See Team workspaces.
